Domain names: what is the tendency?

There would be a certain tendency in the choice of the domain names of Internet sites throughout the world. Thus, the French site "Domaines Info" announced last Friday that the domain names will reach the 110 million on a world level during October. Moreover, the statistics published by "Domaines Inform" reveal that the five principal extensions were the .com with 56,4 million domain names, the .de with 10,1 million, the net with 8,l million, the .uk with 5,2 million and the org with 5,1 million names. The appearance of the .mobi these last weeks would be a true success until now. If the .com loses in popularity (50 % against 58 % in December 2005), the extensions .eu, .fr, .ca and .us seem, as for them, to gain points. Indeed, since its launching in December 2005, the .eu already reached the course of the 2,1 million recorded names. Since last June, the .fr increased by 24 % with 631 552 names, the .ca 17 % with 739 681 names and the .us 24 % with 1,12 million names. In short, it is the undeniable proof that Internet is far from being a fire of straw. It gains more and more in popularity throughout the world and becomes increasingly accessible to all.

Possible purchase of Youtube.com by Google?

The rumours are going fast in the technological world, in spite of the reserve of the large companies to reveal certain information. This time, Google does not escape from it. A writer and founder of a site of technological news received an e-mail relating a purchasing possibility of Youtube.com by the Google. It is between 1,5 billion and 2 billion us dollars that Google would be ready to spend to put the hand on one of the most popular sites of the Internet. This could finally make the Mountain View company the leader in the service of videos on line with Google Video. Several other Internet sites and companies aspire to that title like Microsoft with its service called "Soa pb ox" or Yahoo.com with Yahoo Video. This kind of service becomes extensive more and more, because it generates astronomical incomes, thanks to publicity.

Microsoft to Compete with YouTube: Soapbox Beta is Here

Microsoft announced their beta version you Youtube. The new service called Soapbox is part of the msn.com network.

Available only by invitation, the users can discover what Microsoft has done to compete with Youtube and Google video. Users are limited to 100Mb of data for the moment. You can add keywords, comments and send links by e-mail.

The site works with Windows media and Quick Time. All major browsers are supported by Soapbox and should work on PC and Mac. You will need you Windows Live ID to log-in after you receive the invitation.

Microsoft seems to be a follower these days. With the annoucement last week of the Zune Player to compete with the i-pod and now Soapbox to compete with Youtube.

UK: No sperm for sale on the Internet

New regulations covering the sale of fresh sperm will stop Internet sperm providers to sale their products on the Internet.

The Department of Health said tha they will not be able to sell fresh sperm direct and they will have to guarantee it has been screened for six months, just like the clinics. They will be subject to the same rules and will have to freeze sperm."

The online providers will have until April 2007 to conform to the new regulation and the effect of the new rules will likely be that such samples will remain frozen by female customers until self-insemination.

Get Free US and UK Telephone Numbers from Anywhere

- Sign up for a free DID number from IPKall (US) and/or CallUK. These services will assign you a US or Uk telephone number, and calls made to those will be redirected to your FWD number.

Wireless accessories to be available with Xbox 360
